SWANG always looked at golf a little differently.
Sports illustrator Sophia Chang partnered with SWANG and Callaway Golf to create original golf illustrations for “Translation: A Swang Thang,” a branded commercial campaign featuring golfer and creative Roger Steele.
Working under the creative direction of Kahreh Daugherty, Sophia was brought into the production on a fast turnaround to develop a series of custom illustrations designed to appear as graphic overlays throughout the commercial. The artwork translated golf terminology, references, and inside jokes into playful visual moments that complemented SWANG’s distinctive perspective on contemporary golf culture.
Created within just a few days, the project combined sports illustration, golf illustration, commercial illustration, and motion-ready artwork, demonstrating Sophia’s ability to quickly interpret a creative brief and deliver original artwork within an active commercial production.
