The Ringer “Be Like Steph?” | Steph Curry + Ball Brothers Editorial Illustration

Sophia Chang created editorial illustrations for The Ringer’s “Be Like Steph?”, a feature exploring the evolution of modern basketball through Steph Curry and the Ball family of Chino Hills.

Written by Danny Chau, the story examines how Curry’s unprecedented shooting range helped reshape ideas around how basketball could be played, while Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball were developing their own fast-paced, deep-shooting style at Chino Hills High School. Sophia’s illustrations accompanied the feature, bringing together athlete portraiture, basketball culture, and editorial storytelling.
