New York Mets House | Live Illustration + Pop-Up Window Installation
Sports illustrator, graphic designer, and artist Sophia Chang was commissioned by the New York Mets to create large-scale live illustrations for Mets House NYC, the MLB team’s experiential pop-up in Union Square, New York City. Sophia created original artwork across four exterior windows surrounding the space, transforming the storefront into an illustrated extension of the Mets fan experience.
Created entirely freehand directly on glass, Sophia illustrated each window by hand, including custom lettering drawn backwards so it could be viewed correctly from outside the space. The installation helped transform Mets House into an immersive sports and retail environment, building fan engagement and local excitement around the New York Mets ahead of the baseball season.
The project brought together sports illustration, baseball illustration, live art, environmental graphics, experiential design, retail activation, and sports marketing, using hand-drawn artwork to turn a physical pop-up into a distinctive New York Mets brand experience.
